Das US-Label Polyvinyl Records, eine Weiterentwickling des Fanzines "Polyvinyl Press", wurde 1995 von Matt und Darcie Lunsford in Danville (Illinois) gegründet und dürfte fast jedem bekannt sein. Nicht? Doch! Bands wie of Montreal, Japandroids, Headlights oder Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - um nur einige zu nennen - sind Mitglieder der polyvinylen Labelfamilie.
